Suppressor Capacitor & Discharge Resistor to Fix Kenwood FP700 Food Processor

Problem:

A common issue with the Kenwood FP700 food processor is that it may start smoking and emit a burning smell. A failed suppressor capacitor often causes this.

Solution:

The repair involves replacing the faulty capacitor/resistor. Specifically, a premium KEMET 100nF 275Vac X2 electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppression capacitor is recommended. For safety, a VISHAY 4.7MΩ discharge resistor installed alongside the new capacitor. This resistor helps to safely discharge any residual voltage in the circuit after the appliance is turned off. By replacing the capacitor/discharge resistor, the food processor should be fixed.
